About Flex-Stak Electrochemical Cell

Flex-StakElectrochemical Cell

ProductCode: 10620005

Disassemble and reassemble your own fuel cell stack ofindividually connected cells with the Flex-Stak Electrochemical Cell.  TheFlex-Stak comes in a 1-cell or 5-cell stack configuration depending on yourrequirements.  The ease of use makes it simple to scale the Flex-Stak todifferent power levels and integrate equipment and/or sensor.  TheFlex-Stak fuel cell is an excellent learning tool that gives hands-onexperience with promising fuel cell technology.  Whether its advancedresearch on MEAs, creating your own fuel cell lab or conducting professionaltraining the Flex-Stak has a load of practical applications.

The Flex-Stak Electrochemical Cell comes withoutMEAs and closed independent flow channels allowing reactant flows on eachside of a membrane. Only a flathead screwdriver (1/4 inch) and torque wrench (1in/lb, 3/8 inch nut) are necessary to assemble the Flex-Stak ElectrochemicalCell so you can concentrate on creating your own applications.

The Flex-Stak is a dismantable electrochemical stack thatallows for users to input their own custom PEM MEAs for testing! Independentreactant flow on each side of the MEA allows this setup to be used in manydifferent setups.

FAQ's of Flex-Stak Electrochemical Cell:

Q: How do I assemble or disassemble the Flex-Stak Electrochemical Cell?

A: The Flex-Stak is designed for easy modular assembly using stainless steel rods and end plates. Simply stack the required number of cell modules and secure them with the rods, ensuring the membrane and gasket seals are properly aligned. Disassembly follows the reverse steps.

Q: What benefits does the transparent construction offer for research?

A: The transparent polycarbonate or acrylic end plates provide clear visibility into the cell stack, allowing researchers and students to monitor reactant distribution, detect leaks, and better understand electrochemical processes during operation.

Q: When is it recommended to use the high-current configuration (up to 10 A)?

A: The higher current output (up to 10 A) should be selected when your research or testing protocols require greater reaction rates or electrochemical throughput. Ensure your stack and membrane are compatible with these elevated current ranges prior to operation.

Q: Where can the Flex-Stak Electrochemical Cell be used effectively?

A: This cell stack is suitable for laboratories, universities, and industrial R&D facilities across the United States, and can be used in any environment where room temperature to 80C and atmospheric to moderate pressures are maintained.

Q: What process does the Flex-Stak support in typical usage?

A: The Flex-Stak supports a variety of electrochemical processes such as water electrolysis, fuel cell studies, and other redox reaction experiments. Its architecture allows for reliable, repeatable testing and demonstration of these processes.

Q: How does the Flex-Stak ensure chemical compatibility and safety?

A: All wetted components use electronic-grade polycarbonate, platinum, and Nafion membranes, offering high purity and corrosion resistance. Viton or EPDM gaskets ensure sealing integrity and chemical safety during operation.
